WHY WE EXIST
Today’s K9 Teams Need Support.
Tomorrow’s Teams Need a Start.
Tomorrow’s Teams Need a Start.
A police K9 program requires much more than purchasing a dog. Agencies must also fund professional training, handler certification, safety equipment, transportation systems, veterinary care, and the ongoing resources needed throughout a working dog’s career. The Olympic Peninsula Police K9 Foundation exists to help bridge those funding gaps.
BUILD NEW TEAMS
Help Put More Working K9s Into Service
Starting or expanding a K9 program can represent a significant investment for a local agency. Foundation support can help with the acquisition of new working dogs and the resources required to prepare new K9 teams for service.
EQUIP THE DOGS
Give Working K9s the Gear They Need
Protective Equipment
Ballistic and protective vests, working harnesses, and safety gear.
Transportation
Kennels, vehicle systems, cooling equipment, and safe transport solutions.
Tracking & Working Gear
Specialized tools required for field operations.
Veterinary Care
Routine, emergency, rehabilitation, and preventative care.
TRAIN FOR SERVICE
A Great Dog Still Needs Great Training
A new K9 team requires extensive training before going into service. Donations can help support handler academies, advanced training, specialized certifications, continuing education, and the many expenses involved in preparing a reliable working team.
A new dog is only the beginning.

What Community-Supported K9 Programs Can Become
The Port Angeles Police Department’s K9 program has grown over several decades and today includes three certified patrol dog teams. These dogs are examples of the kind of capable working partnerships the Foundation hopes to strengthen and help expand throughout the Olympic Peninsula.

WHY THE DOGS MATTER
The Right Dog, Training and Equipment Can Change an Outcome.
Working K9s provide specialized capabilities that people and technology alone cannot always match. Depending on their assignment and training, police dogs may assist with tracking, searching, locating evidence, detecting narcotics or explosives, apprehension work, and protecting their handlers. But those capabilities depend on investment: the right dog, extensive training, professional equipment, transportation systems, ongoing veterinary care, and continued certification.
Your donation helps put those resources where they are needed.
COMMUNITY BASED
Supporting K9 Programs Across the Olympic Peninsula.
The Olympic Peninsula Police K9 Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization created to support law enforcement K9 teams throughout the region. Through donations, sponsorships, and community partnerships, the Foundation can help agencies acquire new working dogs while also supporting the training, equipment, veterinary care, and resources existing teams need.
