ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
Supporting the K9 Teams Who Serve Our Communities
The Olympic Peninsula Police K9 Foundation is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting law enforcement K9 teams throughout the Olympic Peninsula. Our purpose is simple: help provide working K9 teams with the resources they need to remain safe, highly trained and ready to serve.
WHY WE’RE HERE
Strong K9 Programs Need More Than a Dog.
Building and maintaining an effective law enforcement K9 program requires an ongoing investment in the dog, the handler and the equipment and training that help them work safely together.
Those needs can include acquiring or replacing a working K9, specialized training and certifications, protective and safety equipment, kennels and vehicle systems, tracking technology, veterinary care and other resources throughout a K9’s working life.
The Olympic Peninsula Police K9 Foundation was created to help connect those needs with community support.
OUR MISSION
Help Keep K9 Teams Safe, Trained and Ready to Serve.
We support law enforcement K9 programs through resources for K9 acquisition and replacement, specialized training and certification, essential equipment and safety gear, veterinary and wellness care, and community education and engagement.
HOW WE HELP
Supporting the Needs Behind Every Working Team
The needs of a K9 program don’t end when a dog enters service. The Foundation’s mission includes support throughout the working life of the team.
K9 Acquisition
Support for the acquisition, replacement or expansion of working K9s when agencies need help building or maintaining their programs.
Training & Certification
Support for specialized training, continuing education and certifications that help K9 teams maintain the skills required for their assignments.
Equipment & Safety
Essential equipment such as protective gear, kennels, vehicle safety systems, tracking technology and other resources that help protect working K9s.
Veterinary & Wellness Care
Support for veterinary care, injury treatment, recovery and wellness needs that help working dogs remain healthy throughout their service.
Community Engagement
Education, outreach and community partnerships that build awareness of K9 programs and connect local support with the teams serving the Olympic Peninsula.
OUR COMMITMENT
Independent. Community-Based. Working Together.
The Olympic Peninsula Police K9 Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization. It is not governed by or operated by a law enforcement agency.
Instead, the Foundation works collaboratively with the law enforcement agencies it serves—listening to their needs and helping connect legitimate K9 program needs with donations, grants, fundraising and community partnerships.
That independence allows the Foundation to bring businesses, organizations and individuals together around a shared goal: providing meaningful support for the K9 teams serving our communities.
LOOKING AHEAD
Building Long-Term Support for Olympic Peninsula K9 Programs
Our vision is to build a sustainable regional resource for law enforcement K9 programs—helping ensure working dogs and their handlers have access to the training, equipment, medical care and operational support they need throughout their service.
